The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The project seeks to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Production History and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced following a solidarity show held in the autumn. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the piece was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of musicians appearing on Lullaby features a range of acclaimed names from the scene. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a significant sum for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of talented individuals. The track features a fusion of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The team running the campaign have clarified that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These resources will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a specific target,” a figure said. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Of course, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of infrastructure reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions won't make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The track is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
